Our charity partner, World Connect believes that the projects with the greatest potential for impact are not imposed upon a community, but come from within it.

With a World Connect grant of just $432, Kagunda Women, a sewing cooperative in Zambia comprising widows, single mothers and carers of orphans, purchased three sewing machines, a pair of display racks and a banner to promote their business.

Today, the cooperative offers monthly sewing classes that have trained more than 80 local women. With the income produced, these women are able to pay for their children’s school fees, reinvest in their sewing cooperative and launch other income-generating activities.

We’re discovering hidden potential around the world, investing in it and seeing incredible leadership coming through from local leaders to transform their communities.

Charitable Partner

A non-government organisation that supports innovative ideas and local solutions for the challenges facing women and children in under-resourced communities worldwide, World Connect believes that the projects with the greatest potential for impact are not imposed upon a community, but come from within it.

“For far too long, the model of development has been inverted and resources and ideas have been imported, as opposed to finding and funding ideas that emerge from local innovation and local potential,” says Executive Director Pamela Nathanson.

To date, World Connect has invested more than $5 million in more than 1,600 projects across 42 countries, impacting more than 1 million lives.

Bicester Village is partnered with World Connect as part of The Bicester Village Shopping Collection DO GOOD network of charitable organisations, all of which work to empower women and children. Read more here.
